Abstract
Svakim danom sve više i više dolazi do katastrofa koji su izazvane ljudskom nepažnjom ili se priroda jednostvno igra na loš način. Prilikom takvih katastrofa prvi koji su pozvani da izađu na teren i spase ljudske živote ili materijalna dobra su vatrogasci. Spašavajući ljude ili materijalna dobra vatrogasci često ostanu sami na terenu jer se dogodi da sustav komunikacije kolabrira u najnezgodnijem trenutku. Tada vatrogasci na terenu nisu spojeni s zapovjednim stožerom te neznaju cijelu sliku katastrofe pred kojom se nalaze i nemogu djelovati na pravi način. Upravo zbog toga treba tražiti sustav komunikacije koji se neće prekinuti u najnezgodnijem trenutku i s kojim će vatrogasci na terenu i zapovjedni stožer biti stalno na vezi. Uvođenjem satelitske komunikacije u vatrogastvo vatrogasci na terenu i zapovjedni stožer bi cijelo vrijeme imali komunikaciju te bi tako i jedni i drugi bili upoznati s stanjem na terenu i mogli bi pristupiti katastrofi na pravi način.
