Abstract
Krajem prošlog stoljeća počelo se uviđati kako narušavanje okoliša može imati štetene posljedice za kvalitetu društva i gospodarstva. Razumijevanje tih spoznaja i poduzimanje aktivnih mjera došlo je do nastanka održivog razvoja i politike zaštite okoliša, kako bi se iz navedenog postigla i razvila ravnoteža između gospodarskih, socijalnih i ekoloških zahtjeva. U ovom završnom radu stavljen je naglasak na sustav upravljanja okolišem ISO 14001 kao jedan od međunarodno najprihvaćenijih standarda u zaštiti okoliša.
