Abstract
Ovim radom opisana je kontejnerizacija kao metoda okrupnjivanja transportnog supstrata, kao i metoda modernog naĉina transporta. Kroz opis povijesnog razvoja i općenite pojmove detaljno je objašnjen pojam kontejnerizacije te sredstva manipulacije i transporta okrupnjenim jedinicama tereta. Nadalje, u radu su opisane kontejnerske luke, njihove lokacije, prednosti i nedostatci te mogućnost razvoja istih. Kontejnerizacija je uvelike olakšala manipulaciju teretom te svojim mnogobrojnim prednostima pridonijela razvoju trgovine i razmjene robe na trţištu. Razvoj globalizacije osigurava potrebu za sve boljim uslugama prijevoza pa se moţe zakljuĉiti da je daljnji razvoj kontejnerizacije, a time i kontejnerskih luka kroz godine sve više napredovati.
