Abstract
Iako ima mnoge prednosti te pridonosi razvoju gospodarstva, cestovni promet obilježavaju i mnogi nedostaci od kojih se posebno ističe sigurnost. Na sigurnost u cestovnom prometu, između ostalog, utječu ljudi, prijevozna sredstva i sve što ih okružuje. Kada se promatraju prijevozna sredstva, odnosno vozila kao čimbenik sigurnosti u cestovnom prometu, zapravo se analiziraju njihovi pasivni i aktivni elementi sigurnosti cestovnog prometa. Da bi oni mogli spriječiti nastanak prometne nesreće, odnosno umanjiti posljedice nastale prometne nesreće ključna je tehnička ispravnost svakog vozila koje se utvrđuje na tehničkim pregledima.
