Abstract
U završnom radu razmatraju se tračnički sustav kao poželjno rješenje za povećanje mobilnosti u većim gradovima na održiv način. U tom smislu analiziraju se problemi urbane mobilnosti i pretjerane uporabe osobnih automobila a sa druge strane karakteristike različitih tračničkih sustava kao mogućeg rješenja ovih problema i doprinosa održivom razvoju gradova. Bez obzira na brojene izazove, moguće je poboljšati prometni sustav ulaganjem u odgovarajuće tračničke sustave. Uvažavajući trenutno stanje i okolnosti mogući razvoj tračničkog prijevoza u većim gradovima Republike Hrvatske odnosi se prvenstveno na uključivanje željeznice u gradsko-prigradski promet.
