Abstract
Na području Općine Oprtalj zelene površine i vrtovi imaju značajne doprinose unaprjeđenju samih okućnica kao i kvaliteti života samih stanovnika. U radu su analizirani vrtovi okućnice u okolnim mjestima Općine Oprtalj: Livade, Gradinje, Dubci, Ipši, grad Oprtalj, Šterna i Bazjaki. Istraživanjem i snimanjem vrtova okućnice i popisivanjem vrsta ukrasnog drveća i grmlja na oko dvadesetak vrtova okućnica na navedenim lokalitetima utvrdilo se da na sam odabir biljnih i dendroloških vrsta utječe što u ovim krajevima prevladava mediteranska klima. Najzastupljenije vrste su: ružmarin (Rosmarinus officinalis), lavanda (Lavandula officinalis), citronovac (Alaysia citriodona), lovor (Laurus nobilis), kurika (Euonyms japonica), ruta (Ruta graveolens), te obični čempres (Cupressus sempervirens) i patuljasti bor (Pinus mugo). Utrvđene vrste koristit će se pri pružanju smjernica pri odabiru biljnih materijala na područuju općine Oprtalj.
