Abstract
Projektiranje, izgradnja, opremanje te potom upravljanje cestovnim tunelom i održavanje zavidne razine sigurnosti složeni su i zahtjevni procesi. Dvocijevni Tunel Sveti Rok s duljinom od 5679 m, drugi je najveći cestovni tunel u Republici Hrvatskoj. Izgrađen je početkom ovog tisućljeća na autocesti A1. Obzirom na vrijeme gradnje i činjenicu da je više katastrofalnih nesreća u svjetskim tunelima potaklo donošenje brojnih direktiva i smjernica pri projektiranju, konstrukciji, opremanju i kasnijem upravljanju cestovnim tunelima, tunel Sveti Rok opremljen je najmodernijim tehničkim rješenjima. Njima se mogućnost nastanka incidenta svodi na minimum, a odgovor na mogući incident postaje brži i djelotvorniji. Ugrađeni sigurnosni sustavi, prvenstveno sustav zaštite od požara i ustrojena tunelska vatrogasna postrojba sa 24-satnim dežurstvom jamac su sigurnog odvijanja prometa tunelom Sveti Rok.
