Abstract
Motivacija je jedna od temeljnih funkcija upravljanja ljudskim ponašanjem. Motivacija je individualna i na različite ljude utječu različiti obici motivacije. Motivacija se ne može mjeriti već se može izraziti kroz ponašanje i zalaganje zaposlenika te je pokazatelj radne uspješnosti. Ovim radom prikazuje se motivacija kao čimbenik koji utječe na zadovoljstvo ili nezadovoljstvo radnika, a samim time utječe i na zdravlje radnika i njihovu sigurnost na radnom mjestu. Opisuju se motivacijske teorije: Maslowljeva teorija potreba, Herzbergova dvofaktorska teorija, Vroomova teorija očekivanja, Teorija X i Teorija Y, McClellandova motivacijska teorija ili teorija postignuća, Adamsova teorija pravednosti. Zatim se opisuje sustav nagrađivanja i kažnjavanja za motiviranje odnosno demotiviranje radnika, kao i načini na koje poslodavac moze izreć neku pohvalu ali i kritiku da ona ne utječe negativno na rad zaposlenika.
