Abstract
Obrađena je tema računalne forenzike i forenzike elektroničke pošte, od njezinih početaka do široke upotrebe u današnje vrijeme. Nabrojane su grane računalne forenzike koje se danas primjenjuju u svim dijelovima informacijskih tehnologija. Opisan je cilj same računalne forenzika koja ima posebnu ulogu pri suzbijanju kriminalnih aktivnosti u granama informacijskih tehnologija pošto ona omogućava identifikaciju takvih aktivnosti, te se pomoću nje prikupljaju dokazi koji su kasnije valjani na sudu. Objašnjeni su ključni dijelovi svake računalne forenzičke istrage u kojoj se prikupljaju, pretražuju, analiziraju i prezentiraju krajnji rezultati. Prikazan je rad u forenzičkom alatu putem kojeg se ubrzava cijeli proces istrage. Praktički dio ovog rada je računalna forenzika e-maila, dok je program korišten za e-mail analizu forenzički alat Autopsy.
