Abstract
Operacijska istraživanja odnose se na aktivnosti kojima se pristupa pronalasku mogućih smjerova djelovanja koji bi na optimalan način riješili određeni problem. Operacijska istraživanja se temelje na formiranju modela koji uvažava odnose među varijablama i ograničenja koja se javljaju. Primjenom odgovarajućih metoda pronalazi se optimalno rješenje postavljenoga problema. Posebno značajno područje primjene operacijska istraživanja su pronašla u poslovnoj praksi, gdje pomažu u donošenju najpovoljnijih poslovnih odluka. Operacijska istraživanja korištena su u radu za pronalazak optimalnih rješenja za uočene probleme u poduzeću Globalna hrana d.o.o., nositelja franšize McDonald’sa za Hrvatsku. Optimizacija se odnosila na pronalazak optimalne kombinacije plana prodaje koji maksimizira prihod, te pronalaska optimalnoga plana distribucije koji minimizira troškove.
