Abstract
U specijalistiĉkom završnom radu analizirana je sigurnost prometa na cestama Istarske ţupanije. Istarska ţupanija je, iza Grada Zagreba, najrazvijenija ţupanija u Republici Hrvatskoj. U Istarskoj ţupaniji kao najsnaţnijoj turistiĉkoj regiji tijekom sezone prometuje velik broj vozila, što izravno utjeĉe na cestovnu infrastrukturu, ali i na znaĉajni udio u broju prometnih nesreća. Da bi se stanje sigurnosti u cestovnom prometu podignulo na višu razinu, društvo mora uloţiti znatno više napora u poboljšanje prometne infrastrukture i razvitak prometne kulture. Znatan dio tog napora pripada policiji koja svojim aktivnostima treba utjecati na povećanje prometne discipline svih sudionika. Prometna kultura svih sudionika u prometu, posebno vozaĉa, moţe najbrţe smanjiti tragiĉne posljedice. Ne traţi izdašna financijska sredstva koliko komunikaciju, povratne informacije, ideje i sustavan rad na njihovom promicanju.
