Abstract
Vatrogastvo je neprofitna, humanitarna i stručna djelatnost koja se bavi preventivnim mjerama zaštite od požara i tehnoloških eksplozija te pruža stručnu tehničku pomoć kod požara, eksplozija i ostalih situacija u kojima su ugroženi ljudski život, zdravlje i imovina. Vatrogasna djelatnost u Hrvatskoj dijeli se na profesionalne vatrogasne postrojbe i dobrovoljna vatrogasna društva. Vatrogastvo je regulirano Zakonom o vatrogastvu, drugim pravnim aktima i dokumentima unutarnjeg ustroja društava i postrojbi. U radu se prikazuje pravna regulativa vatrogasne djelatnosti u Republici Hrvatskoj te prikaz praktičnog djela unutar ustroja Javne vatrogasne postrojbe Grada Rijeke.
