Abstract
Pozitivno djelovanje aromatičnog i ljekovitog bilja na zdravlje čovjeka poznato je od davnina, ali se interes i fokus na ljekovito bilje pojačao dolaskom epidemije Covid-19 virusa, kada se iznova intenziviralo istraživanje antiseptičkih, antibiotskih i drugih ljekovitih djelovanja. U Hrvatskoj dominira uzgoj kamilice, smilja, lavandina i drugih kultura, a timijan je relativno slabo zastupljena vrsta u uzgoju. Cilj ovog rada bio je istražiti mogućnosti uzgoja timijana u brdskom području te izraditi nove proizvode na bazi timijana za primjenu u svakodnevnom životu. Pokus je postavljen u Gorskom kotaru, u mjestu Stara Sušica, sa naglaskom na ekološki uzgoj. Od timijana iz pokusa izrađena su eterična ulja, hidrolat, sapun, tinktura, sirup, liker, balzam, aromatizirana tj. začinska sol, krema i ocat.
