Abstract
Eksterni troškovi prometa su prometom uzrokovani društveni troškovi koji se nadoknađuju iz ostalih izvora javnog sektora ili zajednice. U radu je dan pregled, analiza i usporedba dviju studija o ukupnim eksternim troškovima u cestovnom prometu za 2000. godinu i 2008. godinu za države članice Europske Unije, te je utvrđeno smanjenje ukupnih eksternih troškova cestovnog prometa, no cestovni promet te osobni automobili i dalje su najveći uzročnici eksternih troškova, a naročito je vidljivo... More povećanje troškova prometnih nesreća. U sklopu prikaza istraživanja o eksternim troškovima prikazani su instrumenti njihove internalizacije, odnosno naplate onečišćenja te mjere Europske Unije i nove tehnologije u cestovnom prometu s ciljem smanjenja ovih troškova i osiguranja održivog razvoja.
